Shiny New Cams

How's your lead head?

I see this site as a reaction to how I've interacted with this activity for the last 12 years, and how its changed my perception on risk and driven most of my decisions.

We all have choices to make, and despite what they they change us. Climbing has had the biggest impact on my life so far. Between interacting with the community of staunch ATC believers, reading too many accident reports, and just scaring the shit out of myself on run outs. It has lead to the need for a comical release.

If you don't climb or have been nestled in a climbing gym for your entire climbing career this may seem dramatic or over the top.

That's ok I don't expect/care if everyone understands, but I hope someday I can mess with your lead head.

Yer Gonna Die

This sentiment resonated with me and I'm sure many others on the climbing forums as a light hearted response to someone showing off their shiny new without wanting to give them a lecture on being safe and the dangers of trad climbing.

The circle jerks of the internet lives on.

Today

I've lost a few friends to this silly activity and I've seen and read about far more than that. I think a little fear is warranted but my way of dealing with it is to call it out, to make fun of it, and face it.

No matter how strong I think my lead head is - with the right circumstances that fear and doubt can sometimes pry open the lid.

I hope my silly designs can do that to you as well.

The best climber is the one having the most fun.
